I'm a young, vivacious woman with terrible health. I'd like to blame genetics and situations beyond my control for this, but I know it is partly my fault. I decided I was sick of feeling like "twenty five is the new fifty two," so I changed my diet and lifestyle to help fix my declining health. No one my age should have a blood pressure of 190/110. This is where I write about it.

Speaking of Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Flax; this is one of my favorite snacks ever.
Deerfield Farms Snackin’ Flax Granola Bites
Apple Cranberry
Its like killing a dozen or so birds with one stone. Well, five stones. Soft, delicious stones.
If you live anywhere near a Walgreens drug store, you can pick these up there. Or, you can just order them online.
They also come in Oatmeal Raisin and what I call the “multi-berry” which includes blueberries, cranberries and raisins.
I thought maybe if I used my Photoshop Express App to make this picture a tad bit more artsy, I would feel better about the fact that I had pizza for dinner last night.
Nope; still feel guilty. Especially since my room mate made her awesome Vegan Enchiladas!
I didn’t really intend on having pizza, but let me break-down what happened:
At 6:47pm last night, I sent out the following tweet:
leahondemand: Sorry @malakalips but @Brick3 has my heart http://tweetphoto.com/42430119
The following dialogue ensued:
LifelessOne: (6:50pm) @leahondemand http://www.hotchickseatingpizza.com/
leahondemand: (6:59pm) Now I want pizza! #obsessed @MaLaKaLiPs @LifelessOne @Brick3
MaLaKaLiPs: (7:03pm) RT: @leahondemand Now I want pizza! #obsessed @MaLaKaLiPs @LifelessOne @Brick3<— what’s the address? i will send one over!
“MaLaKaLiPs” is my friend who operates Brick 3, which is an amazing pizza place. Knowing my undying love for their Caprese pizza, I sent a text to said friend saying he didn’t need to send anything over. Apparently I was a tad bit too late, as evident by my last tweet:
leahondemand: Tweet and you shall receive! Thank you @MaLaKaLiPs and @Brick3 http://tweetphoto.com/42443319
Having friends in high (and delicious) places is a blessing, and a curse. Granted I am sure the Caprese pizza is probably the “healthiest” choice they offer, but it still wasn’t a good idea to eat the entire thing.
I also developed a very bad migraine, and on top of my lower back and jaw causing me absolute discomfort, I decided to take a prescription pain reliever. This led to me posting-up on the couch and listening to/watching music videos until 2:30am, white talking to Nine (perhaps we will get into that at a later date.) I have a difficult time sleeping, so being uncomfortable and full of shame Caprese deliciousness didn’t help.
Oh, to be young and in love… with Pizza.
Lunch:
-Vegan Black Bean BBQ Burger Patty from Whole foods topped with home made salsa verde
-One Apple
Note the plate size. Smaller plate makes it look like I’m eating a ton of food! I couldn’t even fit the entire apple on there.
…and Crossfit.
I looked into going to a trail session this Sunday, but unfortunately my ride situation didn’t work out and I had to miss it.
For those of you who are unaware what Crossfit is, it is kind of a fitness “lifestyle” that revolves around actual fitness and healthy body function versus focusing on toning/gaining musicle mass for cosmetic purposes.
It looks pretty brutal, but a lot of the success stories that I have read are pretty inspiring.
Crossfit also promotes following the Paleo and/or Zone Diet. Paleo basically boils down to, “if a caveman ate it, you can eat it.” This kind of eating makes sense, because you are eating natural, whole foods that your body can break down and digest easily.
However, it would very extremely difficult to eat Paleo and follow a Vegan or Vegetarian diet. Or whatever diet I happen to be on, considering it consists of mainly Skittles, Avocados and Soma.
I just really need a new challenge…
